Dolwe fishermen halt activities over low fish prices

More than 600 fishermen from Dolwe Island have laid down their tools over a 1% withholding tax which they have been paying since July. They say it is high, not good for their business and yet they also pay other indirect taxes. The fish dealers say the government came up with the tax without considering the unique nature of their business. The fishermen from the landing sites of Singila, Butamila, Golofa, Kandege, Mawungu and Jaadong have said they will not return to work until the government resolves this matter.
