A man believed to be the mysterious Facebook wizard, Tom Volataire Okwalinga (TVO), who torments and exposes the highest level of classified information about the Ugandan leader, Gen. Yoweri Museveni, released a scorching audio. The audio with a British accent is likely to add more complex puzzles in the search for TVO. Security agencies have previously accused, interrogated or in extreme situations, arrested people whom they suspected of being TVO.
In a distinctive British pronunciation, TVO who is nearly at 120,000 Facebook followers, in this audio released, he specifically calls Ugandans to support the popular revolution, which he [TVO] baptised "The April Revolution".
In a 5:37 minutes audio released on Thursday, April 6, that starts with the national anthem, in a typical British accent, TVO said: "On behalf of the suffering people of Uganda and decades of social media activism and keeping my fellow citizens informed, I TVO, decided to call for a people's revolution in order for the people to take back their country, to secure the future for the generations to come."
"The people's action known as 'The April Revolution," TVO announced in an audio, adding that: "I shall begin by talking about the current state of the nation as being the reason for the urgency with which this revolution has to be carried out."
TVO, remains on the top list of individuals wanted by the Ugandan government on allegations of revealing information that is supposedly 'state secrets'.
After a decade of hunting and several attempts to get TVO identity, with no success, a Ugandan lawyer, Fred Mwema, joined the chase game after the social media activist posted an article on a Facebook page, alleging, that the lawyer received UGX 900 million (approximately $248, 499) from the state to stage manage a night break-in at the lawyer’s own offices in a bid to frustrate a petition challenging the controversial 2016 presidential results.
The lawyer was later to withdraw from the team representing one of the presidential candidates, which anyway was knocked down and the court handed Gen. Museveni a controversial victory that was questioned by both local and International Elections Observers.
Since the break-in incident, the bribe allegations, the disappearance of the documentary evidences, the lawyer, Mwema continue to demand Facebook to reveal the identity of TVO who remains illusive. Not even the recent suit filed in an Irish court, has yielded any fruit. Previously, Uganda security forces had kidnapped and detained an information security expert, Robert Shaka, who they mistakenly suspected to be TVO without proof.
With the on-going hunt or without; TVO, a social media activist, remains firmly fixed on removing Gen. Museveni from power.
"The illegitimate regime of Museveni, is just running the country [Uganda] to its grave and impunity with which billions of tax payers' money is stolen by Museveni and his associates, " said TVO, adding that:" has left the ordinary Ugandans vulnerable and even to survive from one day to another has become a painful task."
TVO went on to say: "The delivery of social services, has totally collapsed and the people of Uganda, now have very poor medical facilities. They are unable to buy simple medication for curable illnesses like malaria which has become a common phenomenon."
"This happens to millions of our people. Millions of funds have been stolen from state coffers to be used by Museveni and his associates to seek treatment from hospitals in India, Dubai, South Africa and the Western World," said TVO.
TVO further said: "This state of affairs has to stop and the people of Uganda, will make sure that tax payers’ money is used for the benefit of every Ugandan."
"Police brutality and political persecution has become the order of the day," said the illusive Social Media activist TVO, adding that: "Museveni has formalised the denial of the freedom of assembly and uses his security forces to kill and maim the people of Uganda."
To emphasise his point, TVO singled out the November 2016, Kasese-Rwenzururu incident, saying that:" The recent massacre in Western Uganda was carried out almost with impunity and as if to spit in the face of the people of Uganda, Museveni promoted his murderer security officers who killed hundreds of Ugandans."
TVO was referring to the promotion of then 2nd Division Commander, Peter Elweru, from the rank of Brigadier General to Major General. Maj. Gen. Elweru, now the commander of the land forces, over saw the Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF) unit that stormed the Rwenzururu Palace and killed an unspecified number of children, women and unarmed civilians in hundreds, according to the recent report released by Human Rights Watch. TVO went on to say that: "This state of affairs, of taking the lives of our people at least condoned on a daily basis and denying them their fundamental rights, will be a thing of the past after 'The April Revolution'.
"Corruption is another cancer that has characterised the Museveni illegitimate regime, " said TVO, before he added: " Funds and money got from the sales of the natural resources is openly stolen and shared by Museveni's associates and his family."
TVO highlighted the consequences of Gen. Museveni's unfulfilled promise to school girls during the presidential, the controversial activist said: "School girls dodge school because of lack of sanitary pads."
Museveni, whilst campaigning, promised to provide sanitary pads to all girls but since the elections he has negated despite his wife overseeing the education ministry and many school girls still skip classes because of lack of sanitary pads. TVO also said that: "As civil servants go for months without their salaries, there are also many other shortages of delivery of basic services by a leader who came to power claiming to get rid of the swamp of corruption only to end up drawing in the swamp."
"The people will end this misery through The April Revolution, which will be weeks long of protests, sit down strikes or any other form etc., starting April 18," TVO announced.
He also pointed out that: "Unemployment, especially the youths is estimated to be over 85 per cent, and instead of introducing strategies like intensive farming and providing money in setting up small scale industries to employ the young people of Uganda, Museveni goes in the night, raids the treasury and gets the money and to then go to Russia and buy fighter jets for trillions! When the country of Uganda is not at war with any other nation anywhere."
"This wrong priority, which is designed to ensure his illegitimate stays in power is another reason why the people of Uganda will have to show him the exit and take back our country and put the priority in place," TVO warned, adding that: "In the twenty first century, the people of Uganda are dying from starvation. And the regime continues to allocate itself additional budgets as many of our people continue to die of starvation, Museveni and his family continue to live extravagantly using our tax payers’ money as ordinary Ugandans go without food "
" Lastly, but not least, I would like to assure you, the people of Uganda, this revolution is the only way we shall save our very existence," said TVO.
A call to the security agencies, TVO advised, that: "To the members of the security forces, where the majority are also the victims of this regime’s bad governance, I promise you that just like the people protected the members of the security forces in Tunisia and Burkina Faso; we the millions of the people of Uganda shall protect you when you come and join this revolution. The people of Uganda have many credible leaders, whom they have voted for in the past and Museveni still revoked their elections at different levels. So you can rest assured that there will be trusted and credible transition leadership after the Revolution. For God and my Country. "
