WAS IT A PROPHESY OR general knowledge we refused to see #Uganda?
[An Eye Opener by Rabba Naga, the Senior Freedom Struggle Leader operating from within the Museveni camp – 11/03/2017]
Many times, both in exile and in all his meetings upon his return, Gen (rtd) Sejjusa told all who cared to listen that "dictatorships are never reformed but dismantled". Few follow these truths. Recently I was saddened when the Nobel Peace laureate San Suu Kyi who negotiated with the military junta in Burma may end up in the International Criminal Court (ICC) because of the actions of the military under her watch, which are committing genocide against the Rohingya people. It is because she inherited the form not the substance, she can’t control the army. This runs through to Zimbabwe etc.
Dictatorships which develop from protracted peoples struggle are far more difficult to dislodge with political romanticism and pretenses. It is hard and dangerous stuff that requires not only commitment, but also ideological and political astuteness and longtime vision. No short cuts nor individual ambitions during the struggle.
I heard the same Sejjusa say, as early as 2014 through to the time he was arrested by the dictatorship, that 2016 elections, no matter what the people decided on the ballot, Museveni would win and he said this, remember comrades? That "while political groups are busy trying to get votes, Museveni is on the second phase. Putting in place the infrastructure to suppress any revolt that may crop up when he declares himself winner. But soon Sejjusa was taken to Luzira maximum prison, Besigye was to be detained in Moroto, Mbabazi was put under house arrest and tanks were rolled on the streets country wide but especially in Kampala. In earnest, a coup had been effected in Uganda for a 5th time. 1966, 1971, 1980, 1985, and 2016.
The rest I omit because some were after struggles like 1986, or outside invasion like 1979 or the elections that Museveni has been rigging. Because these were not outright use of military power, at least not overtly and in blatant violation of the constitution.
Now I come to the gist of this post.
To all you political leaders, just know three things:
1. Museveni will never be removed through an electoral process which he organises. Forget this route. All who participate in this fraud should go and enjoy their groceries with the dictatorship and stop deceiving the people.
2. Museveni will be defeated by force. And here I use force in its broadest sense. People power, military power, regional trashing, ACT OF GOD, all. Yes, he will go. But through any of these all all!!!!!!, but not wasting time in sham elections to embarrass our people like you saw happen to Ingrid Turinawe.
3. Internal implosion. Yes, this is real. But on this I choose not to delve deep.
In conclusion, there are those who don’t want to hear these simple truths, but like Thomas Aquinas said, " As a matter of honour, one man owes it to another to manifest the truth". That is what I do here.
But also to those who find these words disheartening, cheer up, Job 2:34.12 says " God will not do wickedly, and the almighty will not pervert justice" The good always triumphs over evil.
The struggle must continue no matter what. Bless you.
