#Uganda school director commits suicide in the classroom - #Rukungiri

Police in Rukungiri has launched investigations to establish circumstances surrounding the death of Karukakta parents nursery and primary school director.

Gakibayo Bindeeba, aged 50 is said to have committed suicide by hanging on Wednesday night.
His wife, Maureen Kyomugisha, says Bindeeba left home in Bunono cell in Ruyonza parish in Nyaryshanje sub-county for the trading center but didn't return home.

According to Kyomugisha, on realizing her husband wasn't returning home as expected, she alerted her neighbours leading to begin the search. She says they were shocked to find Bindeeba's lifeless body hanging in a primary seven classroom at his school.

Kyomugisha explains that before the deceased left for the trading center, he looked happy and shared his account numbers, account books and other important documents with the family.

She says her husband could have ended his life because of frustration resulting from a meeting between Rukunkiri education authorities and the proprietors of private 106 schools that were closed recently for failure to meet the required standards.

Karukakta parents nursery and primary school is one of the schools that were closed down during the crackdown.

Pauson Kajere, the Ruyonza parish LC V councillor, says they found a piece of paper in the deceased's pocket reading, "burry me in the primary seven classroom".
