#Uganda shilling and global market report - August 31, 2016 #MoneySense #Stock

The Ugandan shilling closed at 3370 on the US dollar, 4429 on the British pound, 3760 on the Euro, 50.31 on the Rupee, 33.28 on the Kenyan shilling, 2571 on the Canadian dollar, 2534 on the Australian dollar and 1.55 on the Tanzania shilling.
Coffee Arabica closed at $3.57 per kilo.
Coffee Robusta closed at $2.01 per kilo.
Gold is at $1310 per ounce and lost $2.00. Great news for the markets as no once seems to be flying into safety.
Brent Crude Oil closed at $47.01 per barrel after losing $1.71.  Oh gosh, oil is really going down.  It just bridged a support line.  Short it.
WTI Crude Oil closed at $44.70 after losing $1.65 per barrel. Short it.
I have been hinting at oil dropping but one can never be sure.  It is going to get bloody and we will see in the near future.  Oil has crashed through support and buying it now would be like, how much money do you wanna lose?  If you are really conservative, just do not buy.  If you are a risk taker, now is the time.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Asia:
Shanghai gained 11 points.  The SSEC moves gracefully and is not going to go down.  I would go long on this one or stay on the side.
Hong Kong hardly got out of bed. Meaning it did not move.
Tokyo gapped up and gained 162 points.  The Nikkei moves a lot more than this so this is nothing to get excited about.
Europe:
Frankfurt lost 65 points but the chart still says it will move up.  Germany has been very strong despite all the attacks.  I have not seen anyone get attacked as much as Merkel besides Obama.  Germans are focused. One day the world will remember that Germany took in the biggest number of refugees during a crisis.  Thank you.
Paris lost 19 points but it is also strong and going up.  Go ahead and attack France but this country is very resilient.
London lost 39 points and looks like it is a short.  However you wil all remember how BREXIT freaked out people and the FTSE climbed higher.  The volume on these minor pull backs is not convincing.  I think it is just profit taking.
North America:
Toronto lost 88 points.  The TSX is oil heavy and its chart looks like it will go down with oil.
Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 53 points and is still stuck in this double cup.  It did bounce off the 50 day moving average (MA) so it might survive.  However, its chart is signaling a good short except with everything going on in the world, it could break above resistance and go up.  I would personally short it or stay out.

Standard and Poor lost 5 points and is sitting like the INDU (Dow Jones Industrial Average) so follow advice above.
NASDAQ lost 10 points and it has been topping out for a while now.  It is a good short given that the above 3 indices are kind of leaning towards falling.

By Chris Wheatley
The 26-year-old's representatives have approached the Emirates Stadium outfit over a temporary move, but Liverpool have no interest in letting him leave
EXCLUSIVE
Daniel Sturridge has been offered to Arsenal by his representatives on loan, but Liverpool remain adamant that their frustrated striker is not going anywhere, Goal understands.
The 26-year-old, a boyhood Arsenal fan, has cut a disappointed figure at Anfield in recent weeks due to a lack of game time and Jurgen Klopp's failure to play him in his preferred central position.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is open to adding players to his squad if they are 'world class', with Sturridge put in that bracket after scoring 13 goals in 25 games last season, despite struggling with various fitness issues.

[31/08, 6:37 p.m.] THE BATTLE FOR SISSOKO

Here's Vinny O'Connor to bring us up to date with that Moussa Sissokotwist - and it seems there was quite a turn of events.

"Shortly before 7pm Everton thought they'd agreed a fee with Newcastle and terms with the player himself. But I'm hearing they then couldn't get hold of the player for a couple of hours - and that he didn't pick up Ronald Koeman's call.

"The medical room was set up, the contracts were drawn up. Then, they heard from Sissoko's representatives that he didn't want to join them. Major disappointment for Everton - but there's also the feeling they might have had a lucky escape"
[31/08, 6:38 p.m.] SUNDERLAND NOT DONE YET

Sunderland are not yet done for the day despite bringing in two new faces, according to Keith Downie on Sky Sports News HQ.

"Sunderland have completed their second signing of the day, this one for Jason Denayer," said Downie. "He arrived at the Academy of Light around an hour ago to finish off the paperwork and complete that deal after they agreed personal terms with him and the deal with Manchester City.

"He becomes their second signing of the day after Didi Ndong. But the day started with Sunderland looking for four, they are not finished yet. Sunderland could yet still add in the dying embers of this transfer window... so watch this space."

[31/08, 6:54 p.m.] HULL EYE TWO MORE

Tim Thornton is reporting on Sky Sports News HQ that Hull are still looking to get two more deals done before the deadline this evening.

"Hull are still looking to get two more deals done before the deadline so it could be a real race against the clock here," he said. "They're looking at a striker and a midfielder as well."
[31/08, 6:55 p.m.] Juan Cuadrado has sealed a three-year loan move from Chelsea to Juventus
Chelsea winger Juan Cuadrado has joined Juventus on a three-year loan deal until 2019, the Italian club have confirmed.
Cuadrado, who spent last year on loan in Turin, will now spend the next three seasons in Italy on a contract heavily based on incentives.
The loan deal involves a fee of €5m (£4.2m) and includes the option to purchase Cuadrado permanently for €25m (£21.2) should certain appearances and results be met during the loan period of three years.

Blackburn Rovers have completed their second deadline day signing with the capture of Marvin Emnes fromSwansea City.

[31/08, 6:58 p.m.] Rovers have completed the signing of Marvin Emnes from Swansea:http://www.rovers.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/marvin-emnes-3285019.aspx …#DeadlineDay
[31/08, 6:59 p.m.] VELDWIJK LEAVES FOREST

Lars Veldwijk has left Nottingham Forest for Belgian side KV Kortrijk on a permanent deal.

The Dutch striker played 14 times in the 2014/15 season before spending last term on loan at Zwolle.
[31/08, 7:00 p.m.] POYET CONTRACT TERMINATED

West Ham and Diego Poyet have mutually agreed to terminate the midfielder's contract.

The 21-year-old departs the Hammers having made 10 appearances in all competitions in his two years in east London.

[31/08, 7:04 p.m.] Luiz to Chelsea is a good move. Had a poor world cup, but overall a good player and really strngthens our backline. Maybe without him we can finally beat PSG.....whenever we play Champs league again...
[31/08, 7:05 p.m.] Here’s that confirmation. Sissoko’s phone wasn’t working earlier, when Ronald Koeman was trying to get in touch to welcome him to Everton, but now he’s tweeting like billyo.
[31/08, 7:07 p.m.] The transfer window has shut

We eagerly awaited confirmation of several moves - notably Sissoko to Spurs -, and perhaps even some late surprises.

Everton have consoled themselves by borrowing Enner Valencia from West Ham.

But most of all, *we want to go to bed. Good night*

X-Files from the village - #Uganda #Literature #Mbale #Masaba

By Denis Wabuyi
Monday
The fear and grief that gripped the village is still visible but slowly dying. Nothing can distract us this imbalu season, even death can't.
Tuesday
"Sema oyee,
Oyee,
Samwene oyee,
Oyee,
Samwene moto,
Moto".
"Sema oyee,
Oyee,
Samwene oyee,
Oyee,
Umushebi moto,
Moto".
Such pronunciations and declarations of courage is what dominates our village life. Ululations from all parts of the village. For us the world rotates around imbalu.
Wednesday
Being a Wednesday we have 7 candidates to circumcise. Food is in plenty, who cares about tomorrow? The lead Umushebi is Namawa. It is amazing what he does, even the white man can't beat him at what he does. Namawa is inspired by the gods in what he does. We are only worried that these days he performs the whole thing very fast. The Umusinde should feel the pain. It is what makes him a man. But it seems his fast hands match his legs. Namawa is a quick sprinter. No one can overtake him. No wonder he can cut 7 candidates in less than one hour.
Thursday
Most candidates prefer Saturday for their circumcision. Being that the whole ceremony takes three days Wednesday is for "khukoya". The Umusinde goes to the river with "khyayungu" to fetch water. This water can also be got at any stream closer home but most boys prefer water from Manafa and so did Wakauna.
However When we reached Nakunuku, Wakauna slipped and "khayungu" broke into pieces. This was bad luck. In essence, we would cancel the whole thing and consult the gods, Wakauna insisted. He therefore went back home and picked another "Khayungu". For us we knew that he is under the influence of "ityanyi" the herb that induces one to yearn for circumcision. It is normally given to cowards who have aged.
Friday
We went to Wambalu's home as it is the custom that the candidates visit homesteads and are given gifts like chicken, goats, money and some even give cows. When we reached his home the kid happily told us, "father said he is not at home". "Am not lying, you can even go in his bedroom and ask". Of course there is nothing to be done but when it gets to his children, all of us will shun them.
Saturday
In the morning you can hear processions from everywhere, it is a celebratory mood which has gripped us.
"Wele wele wowo"
"wele wowo"
"kuma, oba urye"
"Wele wowo"
Losely translated as God is by your side whether you are brave or coward. These songs are sang in the morning as the candidates move around the village collecting gifts. This is the third day, it is for the mother's side to give their blessings. This is normally done by the favorite uncle who gives the last blessings symbolized in "bbusee" goat shit which is smeared to the face, torso, arms and legs of the Umusinde. After that he spits buseela into the Umusinde's face. After all is done, the Umusinde has to dance around his ancestor's Graves.
From here we headed direct to the circumcision ground where a ring was already formed. Namawa reveals himself at last and he did. Soon the whistle was blown, Wakauna had braved transition into manhood. The aunt makes "shikalakala" and the crowd goes wild, the drummers wrap it up with the best beats and we all dance to the new man. Women wriggle their waists seductively, old and young they shake their  behinds like they don't need them anymore.
The men stump the ground that you may think it will break, raise the dust and the excitement only gets better. We all hate the last beat of the drum. Wakauna is finally a man. We then realized that no meat was put on lukangu.
Sunday
And on the 7th day, the village rests. After all even God rested on the 7th day. Even if we don't know the exact 7th day, some say it is Saturday. Who cares, we rest on Sunday.
Till then, we shall keep you posted.

Violence erupts in #Gabon - Rigged elections

African dictators must now face the youth they impoverish so that they remain presidents for life.  They must never blame America and Western countries for the mess which is now enfolding in their countries.  They must blame themselves for over staying in power and not giving the young generation a chance.  Young people who are educated and unemployed have nothing to lose but everything to gain when they rise up.  Read up on revolutions.

Via our Global news briefingz group - Gabon is burning as I write this for parliament has been set ablaze.  Next will be Uganda which has 10 million youth with degrees unemployed and being sold into Arab countries into modern slavery.  If you did not learn from the Arab Spring, wait, you shall soon learn.

The Parliament in Gabon has been set on fire in the Capital Librevile. Heavy gun fire in the capital as protestors match to the State House to burn it too. The where abouts of President Ali Bongo are not known hours after the electrol Commission gave him a win with just an 80 votes difference.

Media is lying to you - #Uganda

We all know that media can lie or use slanted writing.

The last few days, Ugandans have trashed 2 big media houses in Uganda for lying.

Daily Monitor published a story that the High Court in Ireland had ordered Facebook to reveal the identity of our famous #TVO (the enigma which criticises the Ugandan government).

Then NTV picked the story and ran with it kumbe their writers have envunza in their engalabi. Neither of these 2 media houses cross checked information for the source of that story for The Monitor was one Muwema thief liar and they printed it as if it was truth.

In our Uganda News Briefingz group, we had a party.  There is no way Facebook can be forced to reveal identity by a High Court and global media houses do not pick it up.  So we knew immediately that it was bullshit.  Irish Times (Ireland) had published the court case being thrown out.

Yesterday we watched Monitor scramble saying they had a copy of the court order.  We are still waiting.  The fact that Chimp Reports and Red Pepper did not publish it ought to have told Monitor that something was amiss. Instead yesterday they insisted it was true and their source again is the loser lawyer Muwema.

The only story running global is Zuckerberg going to Africa and not to Ireland to petition the court to not be forced to disclose TVOs identity.

We can understand false information but to publish articles 2 days in succession insisting that you are telling the truth when BBC, CNN or Al Jazeera are not running the story. Sacre diable.  Does Monitor get special privileges to be in court in Dublin and BBC does not?

How many times has Facebook, Google and Apple refused to disclose information to FBI? So Uganda is above them?

Kumanina!  Earn your money and stop making up shit!

PS:  The Uganda media I am affiliated with also picked up the story from Monitor.  Only difference is they rectified it a day after.

We dare you all to show us copies of that court order instructing Facebook to reveal the identity of TVO.  Nasser Rd printed order and photoshoppped shall be verified by our friends in Dublin.  Nyoko

Global news briefingz group - #Gabon Rigged elections

As expected,,,,,Africa's longest serving political dynasties has extended its half century of rule of Gabon after the Country’s electoral commission miraculously announced that the incumbent president Ali Bongo had won another term with 49.85% against the 48.16 of his arch Rival Jean Ping. According to EC results, The President has won with less than 100 votes. The vote tallying was late by 5 days something that has left many suspecting the results. Bongo Family has ruled Gabon for over 50 years.
The commission was expected to announce that the opposition candidate Jean Ping, a half-Chinese diplomat who was previously in the Bongo family’s trusted circle, narrowly lost with 70 votes after a fraught election that observers warned as likely to result in violence.
Ping’s party, which claimed victory soon after the vote, rejected the claimed result and demanded a recount in Haut Ogooué, a Bongo stronghold, which according to the sources, the commission was to claim saw a 99.93% turnout.
The national election commission (Cenap) was due to announce the result on Tuesday afternoon at 5pm local time, but delayed repeatedly and still had not declared the winner 19 hours later. Several analysts, including François Conradie, with NKC African Economics, suspected fraud.
“We think, based on what the opposition has reported and on what sources have told us about people’s voting preferences in Gabon, that Mr Ping won more votes than Mr Bongo, and this election is a one-round, first-past-the-post contest. It seems that the fight is just beggining.''
Residents of Libreville ventured out in the early morning to buy groceries but later stayed at home in anticipation of violent protests. The army has been deployed to the capital’s streets, and opposition members reported that their houses were surrounded by police . By James.

#Soccer chat 256 group updates - #ManU

Deadline day... Jose says there'll be no helicopters landing in Carrington today, but there's always the possibility of something happening.

As the long time contributors on here usually have good opinions (and won't instantly say 'Messi' or 'Ronaldo').... If there was an extra player in; where would you want it to be?

And is there anyone that you think should be leaving (permanent or on loan)?

My view... I wouldn't mind some cover at left back, and I would allow Darmian to leave and recoup some funds.  Valencia is clear first choice, and he hasn't set the world alight for me - despite a couple of good games early last season. (SI)

Write your story

After getting lost you find your way...
when the tears have dried up you learn how to smile again...

after disappointments you learn how to trust and believe in people again...

from pain you learn how to stand up and give another shot at life...

from loss you learn acceptance...from heartbreak you find peace in being lonely...

most important of it all is you looking in the mirror and starting to believe in the person you see..
the power of believing in yourself in infinite. In the end what matters is getting up each day with a desire to write your own story...

write it with your successes, with your failures, with your hopes ,with your dreams...
just write it

UN High Commissioner for Refugees visits a camp in #Uganda

At the Nyumanzi Transit Center in northern Uganda, refugees greet U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi with song and dance, as well as with tales of food shortages and poor living conditions.

Grandi is on a tour of Uganda's overcrowded refugee centers. Since violence began last July, nearly 90,000 South Sudanese have crossed into Uganda seeking shelter.
Originally intended as a quick waypoint before settlement, Nyumanzi currently houses thousands of refugees in makeshift tents. One family from Pageri, South Sudan, says life has been difficult.
"Because every day we are [here] almost two months. Everyday beans, no change," one man said.

"And food is not enough," chimed in a woman.

"No blanket, no saucepan for cook, even no bucket," the man added.
The government is trying to ease congestion by transferring refugees to Bidibidi, a new settlement that can house 100,000 refugees. Yet fears of underdeveloped infrastructure, sanitation, possible spies and violence has many refugees too afraid to resettle, many saying they would rather return to South Sudan.
A number of refugees say that when they resisted transfer last month, police shot tear gas into the camp.
“We have ran from South Sudan because of gun and then when we reach there also the police and the Ugandan government have used bombardment," said one man. "Even the children, even all persons, all people, they are crying because these bombs of red pepper even affected some eyes, ears.”
The UNHCR says it is unaware of any event during which police fired tear gas at refugees. The agency also says while building continues at Bidibidi, refugees can be assured they will have access to water, food and shelter in the new camp.
Grandi says the Ugandan government has done a remarkable job settling new refugees, but the world must pay attention to the emergency in Uganda.
“Nowhere in the world I have seen people settled with land and with the beginning of shelter in less than two months," he said. "Twenty-two thousand here in Pagirinya alone, and that is not the only group... but I want to warn everybody if we do not get more resources and the influx from South Sudan continues it will be difficult to maintain these levels and to continue the response for the new waves that will come."
Grandi said the international community should respond to this crisis the same way it responded to the migrant crisis in Europe.
"There, we are funded 60-70 percent, here 20-30 percent. This is not right. We need to put this right,” he said.

Uganda is home to around 570,000 refugees, mostly from Congo, Burundi and South Sudan. And although most South Sudanese say they long to return home, there has been no indication of when the violence there will end.

#Uganda shilling and global market report - August 30, 2016 #MoneySense #Stock

The Uganda shilling closed at 3368 on the US dollar, 4411 on the British pound, 3754 on the Euro, 50.28 on the Rupee, 2572 on the Canadian dollar, 2530 on the Australian dollar and 1.53 on the Tanzania shilling.
Coffee Arabica closed at $3.57 per kilo.
Coffee Robusta closed at $2.01 per kilo.
Gold closed at $1313 per ounce after gaining $1.
Brent Crude Oil closed at $48.72 after losing $0.69 per barrel.
WTI Crude Oil closed at $46.35 after losing $0.63 per barrel.  Oil is going down / has turned bearish.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Asia:
Shanghai gained 5 points and it is strong indicating that it will keep rising, ever so slowly though.  The SSEC does not make aggressive moves.
Hong Kong gained 3 points and seems to be reversing to continue its match to the north.
Tokyo lost 12 points but it has turned up so it will be moving upwards some more.  However this was a no move at all.
Europe:
Frankfurt gained 113 points.  Beautiful and resilient Germany.
Paris gained 33 points.
London gained lost 17 points.  Likely a bit of profit taking as the FTSE has been very strong.
North America:
Toronto gained 3 points which is insignificant as long as oil does not make an aggressive move.
Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 49 points and it is still in this double top from where it will break up and move higher or fall.  The probability is on the fall side.  This type of chart pattern usually indicates a fall in the near future and it looks like buyers are not showing up to move to buy in bigger amounts to move the index above the current resistance.
Standard and Poor lost 4 points and it is also stuck in the double top scenario.  One move from the SPX or the INDU above either way will lift the other markets or bring them down depending on the chosen direction.
NASDAQ lost 9 points and it is shaping up for a fall.  The above 3 will determine the direction for the COMPQ.

#Uganda news briefingz group - Parliament debate

Probably fictitious but a brilliant representation of the Ugandan Parliament and its debate

*Munyagwa:* Instead of discussing pertinent issues, we are busy repealing laws to cater for the whims of one man.
*Tumwebaze:* Who is repealing laws? Amendment and repealing are two different things.
*Mwijukye:* What is the difference in the case of age limit?
*Ssekitoleko:* I don’t know who tipped you but whatever you claim is not true. The amendment Bill is looking at the Constitution in its entirety and not just the age limit.
*Otto:* But even dead ants know that the age limit clause is the target of this whole drama.
*Oyet:* Basically, this august House is yet to discuss anything of substance.
*Katuntu:* They say if a rat landed in a pail of honey, it can only drink enough to fill its small stomach.
*Matsiko:* And who is the rat here?
*Katuntu:* The one who wants the honey in the pail of age limit.
*Muloni:* The impetuousness! How dare you demean the fountain of honour? No amount of heavy rain can wash a leopard’s spots so you watch your language.
*Katuntu:* My bad! I didn’t mean any offence; I just keep getting drawn into his language and styles.
*Anite:* But what do you people want? Must you oppose everything just because you are in the Opposition?
*Otto:* It’s our mandate to counsel the Executive.
*Sebalu:* You guys are just noisemakers. Even when the government tries to promote tourism, you shout and question what rolex can do.
*Munyagwa:* The only good that will come out of the rolex campaign is already out. We must move on.
*Kiwanda:* What do you mean?
*Munyagwa:* The picture of Mutagamba holding rolex like sugarcane. She was literally chewing it.
*Otto:* That picture was something else. It will scare tourists. Rolex is soft, you can even imbibe like a baby, but Mutagamba’s bite makes it look like we are promoting some desert cow hooves.
*Mutagamba:* We are tracing the source of that picture. The photographer deliberately did that to portray the campaign in bad light. I promise you we shall arrest the culprit.
*Ssemujju:* Now what is this? Blaming the photographer?
*Anite:* Yes, it is on record that some of these photographers deliberately manipulate their cameras.
*Oulanyah:* Honourable members, Uganda is bigger than us all. Why bicker over how Mutagamba’s nose looks? When cartoons of my bald head and moustache are done, do you see me threaten to cause chaos?
*Bahati:* Instead of discussing that picture, let’s look into the issue of allowances for cars.
*Ssemujju:* Huh! The Speaker was rude in her response on the matter. I thought we serve the people? It is wrong for a leader to threaten to take more from the people if they complain that what you are grabbing is already too much.
*Speaker:* So should we exclude you from the allowance?
*Lubwama:* Milk is for pigs. These people call us pigs, so let us have the milk.
*Mafabi:* Here is another shameless one. Just yesterday he was crying for public support to enable him get medical attention abroad. Now he thinks he has arrived.
*Lubwama:* The greatest temptation for us MPs is to renounce the joy and perks of being a legislator, to repent, to make peace with our conscience. I got this off some book I was reading whose title I can’t remember. The temptations of God were always more dangerous for mankind than those of Satan. As long as chaos dominates the world, God is an anachronism; and every compromise with one’s own conscience is perfidy. When the inner voice speaks to you, hold your hands over your ears.
*Ssemujju:* That must be Arthur Koestler’s Darkness at Noon. You can’t be quoting such a book while doing exactly the opposite of what it preaches against.
*Munyagwa:* And what does he mean by the temptations of God and whatnot? What is anachronism here?
*Lubwama:* Well, we are living in perfidy, or so they say. The regime is rotten. Those who think they can defy the stench by covering their nostrils will eventually suffocate. I will wade the pond with a smile.
*Ssemujju:* The same book should have taught you that there will come a time when history will be taught using mathematical figures, where teachers will use calculations to show how the greed of Ugandan politicians like yourself led the country to where it will be.
*Karooro:* I see guys who attended Literature class and read a few books flaunting it today. Eh, it must be good being in the Opposition. But Koestler committed suicide so some of you clinging to his words to discuss affairs here in Uganda might end up like him; Mzee is going nowhere.
*Lubwama:* The peasants should sit down and relax. We are thinking for them. We need the good cars to think properly. We can’t think well when stressed. We also need that road closed to the public so we can walk easily from our offices to Parliament, especially after lunch.
*Lokwang:* That is my biggest issue at the moment.
*Nambeshe:* Exactly. Now you guys are talking. Close the road.
*Munyagwa:* Reminds me of the story of Nyero, the village boy who visited the city and could not cross the road. We have a village mentality problem on our hands.
*Oulanyah:* I understand the concerns, members. We are looking into it. Uganda is bigger than us all, so let’s do this in the interest of the nation.
*Otafiire:* I can cross that road with eyes closed during rush hour. I don’t understand the fuss.
*Bahati:* Oh yeah, your reputation for sleeping is more legendary than Bolt’s sprints.
*Otafiire:* Young man, what has sleeping got to do with the issue of crossing roads? If we close Parliament Avenue because some MPs were used to traversing panya roads in their villages, shall we also close Jinja Road the next time they go shopping?
*Nsereko:* Is this really Ota?
*Otafiire:* Why? Because I think it is below our belts to denigrate to the level of singing lullabies to some babies from the village who now happen to be MPs?
*Mateke:* Well, let’s be reasonable.
*Otafiire:* Ah, are you back from holding placards in Kisoro?
*Ecweru:* What is happening?
*Kania:* Very strange afternoon this!
*Otafiire:* Nothing strange at all. Just fix for those people this thing like we see in Chinese villages… in the Himalaya and Naples… where a rope is tied at one end to another and people use it to cross over valleys.
........etc.......
