#Uganda News Briefing group updates

[The group is getting more information about an accident.  All the pictures are on the link at the bottom.  We will keep updating the information in the link attached so you can check every 1-2hrs to see if there is something new.  The group has 80 members in various parts of Uganda and even abroad.  Each person brings in their breaking news asap.]

[19/05, 12:30 a.m.] Court drama..
Court dupes public on Dr. Besigye's appearance at Nakawa Court at 9:30Am. "He was produced at 8:00 and by 8:30Am he had been taken back to Luzira. We found he was long gone." Said FDC President Gen. Mugisha Muntu
These games are short-lived because next time the public wil sleep at Nakawa.
Too bad the magistrates who only possess desk jobs are being used in this drama
Bad thing is they could be threatening them with dire consequences
Truth shall set us free..
[19/05, 1:00 a.m.] PARLIAMENT
While taking oath, some MPs, however, caught us off guard with accents. For instance, an MP would say “Gad” instead of “God.” Some members of the audience were overheard wondering how a legislator who was speaking the normal Ugandan way suddenly developed an accent overnight.
[19/05, 1:05 a.m.] BUSINESS
For the sixth year in a row, Uganda Clays (UCL) shareholders will not be taking home a dividend after the company incurred a third straight loss.
Steady progress
[19/05, 1:53 a.m.] AVIATION HICCUP
#EgyptAir flight #MS804 heading from Paris to Cairo has gone missing. Here's what we know so far.
◙ Dozens of people on board
◙ Plane was flying at 37,000 feet when it disappeared
[19/05, 1:58 a.m.] ADF DILEMMA
More than 30 former Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) reporters under western region Amnesty Commission have castigated the government over breach of conditions set for their surrender.
[19/05, 2:03 a.m.] UNRA SUED
The case in which fuel firm, Vivo Energy Uganda (distributors of Shell products in Uganda), is claiming more than Shs3.5 billion against Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) is under mediation before court.
Owlanya campaign
The former Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mr Jacob Oulanyah, has vowed to act with independence and erase the rubber-stamp tag off Parliament’s image if re-elected.
[19/05, 2:10 a.m.] Oulanyah is a liar. To me.
[19/05, 2:13 a.m.] He is preaching water but takes wine
[19/05, 2:15 a.m.] He was brought by m7 in a gift wrapped package. No campaign ni anything. All that the MPs were told was to vote him..orders from above
So what??
[19/05, 2:38 a.m.] As if he was independently elected!!!!
[19/05, 3:19 a.m.] Five Things About Today
1) 10th Parliament first sitting, during which a Speaker & Deputy Speaker will be elected, starts at 10AM.
2) EgyptAir flight #MS804 from Paris to Cairo remains missing, 4hrs since it disappeared from the radar. EgyptAir says they're in touch with all authorities and rescue efforts are underway.
3) FDC's Kizza Besigye who appeared before Nakawa Chief Magistrate is on remand at Luzira Prison until June 1. Besigye says he fears for his life and he's being mistreated.
4) The swearing in of KCCA leaders, including Kampala Lord Mayor-elect Erias Lukwago has been postponed indefinitely. The swearing-in of the KCCA leaders was postponed given that a number of them are yet to be gazetted.
5) The Zika virus could spread to Europe this summer, although the likelihood of an outbreak is low to moderate: World Health Organisation
[19/05, 3:24 a.m.] LUKWAGO
I have received a written communication from KCCA that the swearing in ceremony for all elected KCCA leaders, that was earlier on scheduled to take place on Friday 20th May, has been indefinitely postponed. I must register my dissatisfaction with that unfortunate decision because the reasons advanced are not at all tenable.
[19/05, 3:31 a.m.] But for sure how many people wil jarukanga have to disenfranchise to get a slap on his face. Just some examples..
-Lukwago 1st term was stolen by him,
-Then he went for the rebel MPs and they fought back even then they were seating on the sides
-Right now he is shoving owlanya down our throats
-And lukwago 2nd term is also being stolen to cover up the mess at kcca
Let's speak now or else no one wil talk for us when jarukanga says our representative shouldn't enter Parliament.
[19/05, 3:45 a.m.] Accident here in  mpererwe, heavy truck magulu kumi trying to overtake has hit knocked a discovery, the driver of the discovery is feared dead, dude has been here for like an hour, no ambulances coming people fear helping because if you take the person to Mulago you are held responsible, kale kwegamba tewali ayamba!!
[19/05, 4:10 a.m.] Flight Ms 804 crash confirmed
[19/05, 4:11 a.m.] Is there any comedy taking place in Uganda apart from speaker contest? I have been off air for a while.
Mbale is fine though it has turned into a town of drunkards especially with students in holiday. Sewage in Mbale is deplorable, the municipal abattoir is in a very bad state. The other day Pamela, the deputy RDC was talking about it in New Vision. Zandya says they have received funds to renovate it.
Due to the poor hygiene, the slaughter house has registered 50% decline in the activity as butchers shun it.
People should be eating less meat. What happened to clock tower? They have been repairing it for the last 5 years but they don't fix the clock itself. What is a clock tower without a clock? In fact they have turned it into a watch tower.
The beautification of Mbale town goes on along Republic and Bishop Wasike road, . Zandya was returned and we expect more of the same. Progress.
Nabuyonga road?
There are so many uncovered manholes in Mbale and people are quiet 

[19/05, 4:17 a.m.] Voting today shall be by show of hands and deputy CJ kavuma will count the votes in presence of Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who will be there to spot the snakes who ate his money for nothing
[19/05, 4:17 a.m.] Why have they changed the secret ballot system
[19/05, 4:20 a.m.] I didn't know we had children in Parliament
[19/05, 4:22 a.m.] That can't be. Kadaga is the one to preside over the election of the deputy speaker. That will be gross violation of this arm of government which is expected to be independent. Where did our God go? Is our File Misplaced in heaven?
[19/05, 11:44 a.m.] What happens in politics everyday is a ploy by Museveni to get more people disgruntled with politics hoping they will just abandon politics for something else.
But no, it is in our blood the instinct to fight for our nation at all times.
We shall not relent, neither shall we give up.
We could give up if the hospitals had medicine and treated people, I couldn't raise a voice if youths could access jobs to sustain themselves.
If the roads were bad, we could understand that we are prioritizing but when Museveni's closest friends are pocketing billions and Museveni himself is blowing money to bribe people to attend victory celebrations and wasting billions just to shut down Besigye from voicing out injustices.
Did father Lokodo get the ponorgraphy machine? Congratulations!
[19/05, 1:32 p.m.]
M7's attendance of to day's parliamentary session of voting the speakership reduced himself to a polling agent of Jacob Oulanya . After bribing MPs with shs 15million each. But I think much as m7 has thanked MPs from  passing the test, it has been indeed a test of the independence of parliament and the doctrine of separation of powers.
[19/05, 2:48 p.m.]
Wreckage of EgyptAir flight MS804 has been found near Greek island of Karpathos, Egyptian aviation officials have confirmed.
The plane was en route from Paris to Cairo with 66 passengers and crew when it went down overnight. Egyptian Vice-President Ahmed Adel told CNN that the rescue operation was "turning into a search and recovery". Officials say the plane was more likely to have been brought down by a terrorist act than a technical fault.
