Mayor Lukwago swearing in set for June 1 - #Uganda

Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) has fixed the swearing in City Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago on June 1.
It's not clear why KCCA set this date given the fact that it's the same day when former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential candidate Kizza Besigye is expected to return to court over charges of treason.

Lukwago will be sworn in along with other elected city leaders.
Initially, Lukwago and other city councillors were set to swear-in on May 20 but KCCA postponed on grounds that there were delays by the Electoral Commission to release the gazette of all the elected leaders.
KCCA spokesperson Peter Kaujju said the EC has released the list of all the gazetted leaders and the swearing-in ceremony will begin at9am at City Hall gardens.
This comes at a time when Lukwago and other elected city leaders were question why KCCA had decided to postpone the swearing in ceremony.
