China president writes to #Museveni - #Uganda

[Dictator Museveni does not look too happy in this picture or does he look smug?  It is as if he is thinking, OMG, CNOOC is going to pull out.  There goes my oil!]
President Museveni has received a congratulatory letter from President Xi Jinping of the Peoples Republic of China on Mr. Museveni’s re-election in the recently held national elections.
The Vice-President of the Chinese National Offshore and Oil Corporation (CNOOC), Mr. Zhao Shunqiang, who led a delegation that included Chinese envoy to Uganda, Mr. Zhao Yali, handed over the letter from the Chinese President to President Museveni on Friday at State House, Nakasero.
President Museveni and his visitors discussed matters of mutual interest between Uganda and the Peoples Republic of China.
CNOOC is one of the oil companies that are involved in the development of the Uganda oil resource in the Albertine region in Western Uganda.
CNOOC is the 3rd major national oil company in China after CNPC and China Petrochemical Corporation.
CNOOC, which is government-owned, is a major player focusing on the exploitation, exploration and development of crude oil and natural gas in offshore China.
