THERE ARE 10 MILLION PEOPLE IN #UGANDA WHO HARDLY HAVE ENOUGH TO EAT. BUT THIS IS A MOOT POINT. THEY GOT SLEEP AND PEACE.
Meet Mary, a 15-month-old girl from Uganda. Mary is the first child of her mother, Beatrice, and her father, Abraham, who are both farm laborers.
“Beatrice sells fish in the market and Abraham works as a house builder when there are jobs available,” shares our medical partner, the Kellermann Foundation.
Mary is acutely malnourished. She has swelling in her extremities due to her poor nutritional intake. Her doctor explains, “The effects of her malnutrition include lethargy, a compromised immune system, and can lead to long term consequences including growth stunting and poor cognitive development.”
$375 will fund the care Mary needs to treat her malnutrition – including diagnostic work, nutritional supplements, antibiotics, and a hospital stay. This care will give her a chance at normal, healthy development.
Mary’s mother shares, “I look forward to taking her home when she is healthy and caring for her. I am grateful to all the donors and will tell others about the help I have received.”
