ONE OF THE PEOPLE WHO FIGHTS FOR DEMOCRACY IN #UGANDA. Fdc Preacher Doreen Nyanjura

One of the biggest frustrations in #Uganda is to have a young woman go in and out of jail simply for registering unemployed youth in our country.  It is illegal in Uganda to be unemployed and yet the country boasts some 90% unemployment rate among graduates.  If you dare to protest about unemployment, you land in jail.  One thing I have learned since 2013 is that the people are resolved to put some solutions in place.  This young lady has been roughed up a lot and I even have no idea how many days she has spent in jail AND only for daring to participate in a move to register the unemployed youth.  Her work is to be commended and I look forward to when she will get the Noble Peace Prize.  At 25yrs of age, I had too many pressing issues to think about helping an entire country.  Uganda will owe this young lady a medal.

Thanks Doreen.  Keep it going as your work is what Uganda needs.  Between you and Ingrid and so many other women in our country, I am home. And home I will stay. I am rooting for you sister.

National Association of the UnemployeNational Association of the Unemployed (NAU) Coordinator aka FDC Preacher, Doreen Nyanjura, has been arrested.
Police picked Nyanjura earlier today from Kasubi during a registration exercise.
During the arrest, witnesses say Nyanjura was “manhandled” by male officers without any consideration that they were holding a woman.
Also arrested were the two registrars; Robin Wabulembo and Davis Nangosya
They were whisked off and locked up at Old Kampala Police Station.
Nyanjura had sent around a message reading: “National Association of the Unemployed (NAU) will today at 10;00am in Kasubi opposite Kobil open its unemployment ‘office’ and register more Unemployed Ugandans as well. Kindly be there. Nyanjura Doreen (NAU).”
